My sister Karen is a chocolate snob and a chocoholic. I know that whenever I visit her I’m going to discover something good. During one such visit, she turned me on to my latest snack obsession: ALDI’s Choceur Peanut Butter Cups.

When she handed me a bag I was a little hesitant. Although I don’t mind them, I’m not a huge fan of Reese’s. “They’re way better than that,” Karen told me. “Trust me. I know my chocolate. You’re gonna love them.”

I do love them and the rest is snacking history.

Why I Love ALDI’s Choceur Peanut Butter Cups

Upon opening the bag, my nose got an enticing big whiff of both peanut butter and chocolate. Taking a bite, I was overwhelmed with creamy, peanutty goodness enrobed with milk chocolatey deliciousness. There was also a strong vanilla note that was accented by just the right amount of salt. They’re so good, it’s virtually impossible to stop at just one cup.

Then Karen told me the price—$3.99 for a 12-ounce bag, making this snack even more appealing. That’s up from the $2.99 they used to cost, but it’s still a reasonable price for a high-quality indulgence.

Since my sister’s introduction, Choceur Peanut Butter Cups have become a frequent addition to my grocery list. My husband eats them when he needs a pick-me-up while doing projects around the house, and unless I ask him to save me a few, he’ll finish the entire bag in one project. “It’s a good motivator,” he says.

My son and his friends like them as an after-school snack; in fact, if I want to have any for myself, I have to hide them before his friends come over because they’ll be gone in moments.

It’s no wonder that they’re absolutely beloved by ALDI nerds—what ALDI fans call themselves online. On social media, these peanut butter cups remain a trending force. If you’re going to a party, putting together a gift bag, or traveling to visit someone, Choceur Peanut Butter Cups are immediately recommended.

Fun Ways To Use Choceur Peanut Butter Cups

Choceur Peanut Butter Cups aren’t just for snacking. They’re also incredibly versatile in baking. I’ve added them to chocolate peanut butter pie, and I also think they add an incredible dimension to any peanut butter cookie recipe I’ve tossed them into.

Perhaps the best use is to make them the focal point of chocolate peanut butter fudge. My sister made me this treat for my birthday. Simply line an 8x8-inch pan with peanut butter cups, then melt a bag of chocolate chips with a can of sweetened condensed milk on the stove. Pour it over the cups in the pan, let firm up at room temperature, then put it in the fridge to further harden before cutting into squares.

“To add to the peanut butter taste, I usually melt a handful of cups into the chocolate and sweetened condensed milk,” she says. “Then, I crush another handful and I put it on top of the fudge as it hardens.” It’s a decadent treat that all ages will love.
