Experience
Irene Yoo, also known as Yooeating, is a chef, recipe developer, writer, and culinary historian focused on Korean and Korean American home cooking, street food, and culinary history. She was born in Detroit to Korean immigrant parents, raised on home-cooked Korean meals in LA and street vendors in Seoul.
In addition to formerly working as a photo & video producer for Food Network and Magnolia Network, Irene has developed recipes and penned essays for Food52, FoodNetwork.com, Slate, and Simply Recipes, and previously presented about Korean culinary history at The Korea Society and The Museum of Food and Drink.
She co-hosts Youtube channel KA KA Studio, which shares unique Korean American experiences and perspectives through Korean food, culture, and travel.
Favorite meal when you're cooking for yourself: "I always crave Shin Ramyun whenever I return home from a long trip – I like to jus it up with beef bone broth, American cheese, egg, and scallions!"
